The 30th Annual International
Security Round Table Conference

The Academy of Security Educators and Trainers (ASET), an organization of security professionals dedicated to explore the large spectrum of issues confronting the security field, is having their 30th Roundtable Conference Friday April 9th, 2010, 9am-5pm, at the New Yorker Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

The title of the conference is, “Enhancing and Enriching the Security Education Process”. We meet to discuss, design, develop, and exchange thoughts and ideas in an open forum. The conference will consist of several presentations, a panel discussion, and an open forum roundtable discussion with all participants.The conference will focus on raising the quality of our teaching abilities. ASET was founded in 1980 and the purpose is to assist in the proper growth and development of security education and training. ASET conducts the Certified Security Trainer (CST) program, a program designed by Dr. Richard Kobetz, founder of the Executive Protection Institute and the Personal Protection Specialist credential. Dr. Kobetz has been maintaining and hosting ASET since it’s inception in 1980.

ASET is also affiliated with “The Journal of Applied Security Research: Prevention and Response in Asset Protection, Terrorism and Violence” (re-titled from the Journal of Security Education to reflect a more comprehensive focus) and is a one-stop resource on security research, education, and training programs that will help scholars, educators, practitioners, and students meet the increasing need for security in the United States. The journal presents the latest developments in theory, practice, research, and assessment with an emphasis on up-to-date methods, techniques, and technology.

The conference is best suited for Security Trainers and Educators as well as Security Directors and Managers, Supervisors and Officers, and everyone involved in the security field.
